In this tutorial, we will learn about Joomla, starting with Joomla Introduction. Joomla is a Content Management System widely used for developing dynamic websites. It is one of the top 3 CMSs available worldwide, after WordPress and Drupal.

Joomla is a free and open source Content Management System (CMS).

Templates are the layouts, which gives layout to the website. A separate section if for Templates in Joomla, whereas you can easily add new templates. The default which is visible after the installation is Protostar.
Extensions extends the functionality of a website. Joomla provides options to easily add and update extensions.
Extensions also provides Modules for Joomla, for example, adding most read articles on the website, adding related articles section on the website. Many other free modules are also available.
Plugins further helps in adding more features to the website. For example, Authenticating Gmail.

Dashboard of Joomla is known as Joomla Control Panel. It is available to the administrator so that the website can be developed smoothly with various menus such as adding article, adding users, structure, extensions, etc.
