12 Jul WordPress Export Tools

WordPress provides with an option to export the content of your website to another platform with the WordPress Export Tools section. Create a file of your sites content and then export that file. This is done to import it into another platform. The exported content file will be in the form of XML, which is WXR.

For reaching, click Tools > Export,

As you can see, under the file you can choose what to export i.e. posts, pages, categories or all of them.

The Download Export File button, on clicking, creates an XML file in WordPress eXtended RSS or WXR format. The file will contain the posts, pages, comments, categories, tags and custom fields of this website.

After saving the download file, use the Import option in another WordPress website to import the content from your site.
